Siena College Mission Statement:
Siena College offers programs of study in the Arts, in the Sciences, and in Business leading to the baccalaureate and to the MBA degree, and it provides continuing education programs for the surrounding community. An independent college in the liberal arts tradition, Siena emphasizes in its programs the principles and values of Francis of Assisi. He was a man of God who recognized the goodness of all creation, who welcomed every human being as brother or sister, and who esteemed all labor no matter how humble. Siena thus affirms the unique worth of each person and the responsibility of individuals to cooperate in the creation of a just and peaceful society. Through its liberal arts curriculum, Siena strives to empower its students to address the challenges of an ever-changing world and a diverse society. Concentrated areas of study prepare students for specific careers and for postgraduate education. To these ends, Siena fosters the intellectual and aesthetic growth of its students through personal interaction with the faculty and staff both inside and outside the classroom.
